FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

All University of Houston students are encouraged to join CCO, regardless of major or musical experience. We like to welcome everyone into the ensemble, as we our proud to serve both music majors and non-music majors. creating opportunities of leadership for both facets.

To join the Cougar Camerata Symphony Orchestra, show up to the interest meeting or open rehearsals before the member deadline (which will be posted on our website and social media platforms). A Google form will be shared that you can fill out to join us!

Cougar Camerata Symphony Orchestra rehearses for two hours, once a week, in addition to the dress rehearsal and concert. Any additional time commitments will be communicated by advance notice.

We have no audition process for the Cougar Camerata at the moment, as we like to welcome anyone interested throughout the university. If you are curious about the skill level of the ensemble, check out our repertoire tab under 'About Us!' to see the level of music we perform. 

Being a part of CCSO means players will get enrichment in all categories of orchestral literature. We have played film scores, pop music, classical music, and much more. From The Planets and Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6, to Music from Wicked, we cover a wide variety of music.
