Join us for our Fall 2025 concert, 'Unity,' December 8th @ 7:30 pm!
The Cougar Camerata Symphony Orchestra serves as an orchestra to promote collaboration among all student communities at the University of Houston. This orchestra will encourage the development of musicianship and artistry through the inclusion of valuable opportunities that pertain to music majors (such as conducting, composing, arranging, transcribing, performing, and engaging in interdisciplinary collaboration) and non-majors (such as performance opportunities, interdisciplinary collaboration, and professional development opportunities).
This orchestra will engage members through the essential skills of organization, creativity, and musicality. In an effort to establish precedence for students to create opportunities that expand their minds, unleash creativity, and deepen understanding of the arts. Through this organization, students will have opportunities to collaborate with various disciplines and artforms. Students can contribute arrangements, transcriptions, compositions, instrumental talent, conducting, and organizational skills. These opportunities are invaluable to any university student and will serve as an additional resource for many students on/off campus.
Our aim is to continue to educate the future of the industry through exposure to podium time, performance opportunities, awareness of administrative opportunities, education of non-profit administration, and reputation of the orchestra as a medium, as well as to provide unique arranging, conducting and performing opportunities to the students of the University of Houston, alumni, and community members.
