As a fifth-year student at the Moores School of Music, Marina Elizondo-Collado is deeply immersed in the world of music as both a clarinet player, mezzo-soprano vocalist, and conductor. Alongside her dedication to honing her musical talents, she is pursuing studies in Music Education and Business Finance, aiming to blend her passion for music with a strong foundation in financial management and entrepreneurship. Engaging in academic and extracurricular pursuits, Marina is proud to be a member of the esteemed music fraternity Kappa Kappa Psi, the UH Honors College, and performs actively with the UH Wind Ensemble and UH Choir. Additionally, she has served as clarinet section leader for the Spirit of Houston Marching Band since 2022, where she fosters collaboration and cougar spirit among peers. Under the guidance of Maestro Franz Krager, Marina continuously strives for artistic growth and musical excellence in her conducting. Beyond her academic endeavors, she has created a research documentary on the conducting techniques of Sensemaya, where she got to collaborate with world class conductors and symphony players. She also believes in student innovation as she was a founding member and now active president of the all student led orchestra Cougar Camerata. Outside of her musical pursuits, Marina finds joy in playing tennis, avidly cheering on the UH athletic teams, and embarking on enriching adventures through travel. With a multifaceted approach to life, Marina is dedicated to harnessing her talents and experiences to make a positive impact both within and beyond the realm of music.
