Caroline Lawson is a third year student at the University of Houston Moores School of Music, where she currently studies under Peggy Russell and is pursuing her Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance and Music Marketing. She is passionate about music and hopes to pursue a career in performance and arts administration, and is grateful for the experiences in both that serving as Vice President for the 2024-2025 and President for the 2025-2026 season is providing her. Caroline made her solo debut in 2019 with the Clear Lake Symphony, followed by a second performance with the symphony in 2022. Her most recent soloist performance was of Michael Daugherty's flute concerto, Trail of Tears, with the Kinder HSPVA Symphony in 2023. In addition to performing with the Cougar Camerata Symphony Orchestra and as a soloist, she performs as a member of the Moores School Symphony Orchestra, Moores Ballet Symphony Orchestra, Moores School Opera Orchestra, and CityRise West U Baptist Orchestra. She was previously a member of the UH MSM Wind Ensemble and UH MSM Symphonic Winds. Caroline is also one of the founding members of the Houston-based woodwind quintet, Centennial Winds. In her free time, Caroline loves spending time with her family and friends, reading, and talking about her cats.
